The Bermuda Softball League playoffs delivered another evening of high-scoring drama last night at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond, with two exciting encounters deciding which teams would advance.
In the opening match of the night, the Pitch Invaders showcased their offensive firepower, defeating the Bad News Beers with a convincing 20-9 scoreline. Quin Simmons led the charge for the Pitch Invaders with an outstanding performance at the plate, going a perfect 4 for 4, including a triple, a home run, and driving in five RBIs. For the Bad News Beers, Cameron Neal contributed with a home run and three RBIs, going 3 for 4, but it wasn't enough to stem the tide of runs from the Pitch Invaders.
The final match of the evening saw Team Smokey dominate the Raggamuffins with a decisive 19-3 victory. Mark Reyes was a key figure for Team Smokey, going 2 for 3 from the plate with a double, a home run, and four RBIs. David Jones went 2 for 2 with an RBI for the Raggamuffins, but his team was unable to match Team Smokey's relentless hitting.
These results ensure that the Bermuda Softball League playoffs continue to be packed with action and impressive individual performances as teams battle for the championship.
