The Bermuda Softball League playoffs continued to deliver a feast of runs and drama last night at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond, with two high-scoring encounters keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
In the opening game, Rainbows showcased their offensive prowess, defeating the PHC Zebras by a decisive 22-12 margin. The star of the show for the Rainbows was undoubtedly Jade Weaver, who put on a magnificent display at the plate. Weaver went a perfect 4 for 4, including two doubles and two towering home runs, driving in an impressive seven RBIs to lead her team to victory. For the PHC Zebras, Natasha Trott contributed with a solid 2 for 4 performance, featuring a triple and three RBIs, but it wasn't enough to stem the Rainbows' scoring tide.
The nightcap proved to be an even more exhilarating affair, as the Southampton Rangers narrowly edged out Home None in a breathtaking 31-29 shootout. This was a true slugfest, with both teams trading blows throughout.
For the victorious Southampton Rangers, Charles Trott was a standout, going 5 for 6 from the plate, including a home run and six RBIs. Allan Douglas also had a superb outing, batting 4 for 4 and driving in five runs. Home None, despite the narrow defeat, put up a valiant fight, with Jesse Marshall leading their charge. Marshall went 4 for 5, blasting three triples and a home run, and collecting four RBIs. Dario Flood also contributed significantly, going 2 for 5 with a double and a home run, adding four RBIs to his name.
