Adam Hall watched on from the dugout as his Nashville Sounds teammates suffered a narrow 5-4 defeat to the Iowa Cubs on Wednesday night, in a game significantly impacted by a lengthy rain delay.
The contest at First Horizon Park was halted for 53 minutes as the heavens opened, with play resuming in the bottom of the sixth inning. Despite the interruption, the Sounds battled hard, but ultimately couldn't overcome the Cubs.
A bright spot for Nashville was the continued red-hot form of Bobby Dalbec. The infielder delivered his third consecutive multi-hit game, tallying an impressive three of the Sounds' eight hits on the night, along with adding two crucial RBIs to his tally.
Even through the disappointment of the loss, the series between Nashville and Iowa is set to resume on Thursday night. The Sounds will be looking to bounce back with the highly-rated Brewers' prospect, Logan Henderson, taking to the mound.
Henderson, ranked as Milwaukee's no. 12 prospect, brings an impressive 7-1 record and a sparkling 1.87 ERA into the game. He'll be aiming to extend his remarkable seven-game winning streak for the Sounds, which is part of an even more dominant 10-game overall winning run, including victories in each of his first three Major League appearances earlier this season.
First pitch from First Horizon Park is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. local time, as the Sounds aim to level
