Only two games were on tap at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond last night, but the Bermuda Softball League still delivered plenty of excitement, including a nail-biting opener and a dominant performance.
Pitch Invaders Edge Raggamuffins in High-Scoring Thriller
In the evening's curtain-raiser, the Pitch Invaders narrowly edged out the Raggamuffins in a high-scoring affair, securing a 25-24 victory. Marcos Proctor was a key contributor for the Pitch Invaders, going 2 for 4 from the plate with a home run and 4 RBIs. For the Raggamuffins, John Payne had an exceptional night at the plate, going a perfect 6 for 6, including two doubles, a home run, and an impressive 7 RBIs, but his efforts ultimately fell just short in the tight contest.
Odd Balls Dominate B&V Sliders
The nightcap saw a more one-sided affair as the Odd Balls delivered a commanding performance to defeat the B&V Sliders 20-3. Dustin Luck was the standout offensive force for the Odd Balls, going 5 for 6 from the plate, including two home runs and 6 RBIs. Sean Perinchief went 2 for 3 from the plate with 1 RBI for the B&V Sliders, but their team was unable to match the Odd Balls' formidable offense.
The latest round of Bermuda Softball League action highlighted the league's capacity for both dramatic finishes and dominant displays.
