In the evening's curtain-raiser, Platano Power secured a narrow 13-12 victory over the Hakuna Matata Lions. Albert Acevedo was a standout performer for Platano Power, going a perfect 4 for 4 from the plate, including a double, a triple, and 3 RBIs. For the Hakuna Matata Lions, both Brian Hall and Kevin Miller went 3 for 4, each hitting a double and a home run while driving in 4 RBIs, but their efforts fell just short.
