Adam Hall and his Nashville Sounds teammates ended their series against the Gwinnett Stripers on a high note, securing a dominant 10-4 win to take five of the six games. This marks the Sounds' first five-win series of the year, putting them just 4.5 games behind Lehigh Valley as the first half of the International League season draws to a close.
The series finale saw a total of 15 pitchers used by both teams, highlighting the offensive nature of the game for Nashville.
The Sounds exploded out of the gate in the bottom of the first inning, jumping to a six-run lead against Gwinnett starter Hurston Waldrep, who failed to make it out of the opening frame. All six runs against Waldrep were earned on just two hits, but he struggled with control, issuing four walks, including back-to-back bases-loaded walks that scored the first two runs. Freddy Zamora then made it 4-0 with a two-RBI double. Hall and Raynel Delgado finished the explosive inning by contributing the other two RBIs for Nashville.
Hall's contribution in that pivotal first inning came when he singled on a line drive to left field, allowing Oliver Dunn to score. Freddy Zamora advanced to third base, and Jimmy Herron moved to second.
Later in the game, Hall grounded out in the bottom of the fourth and again in the bottom of the sixth. In his final at-bat of the game in the bottom of the eighth, Hall popped out to the second baseman.
The Sounds, after their initial scoring burst, were held quiet until producing another significant four-run inning in the seventh. Anthony Seigler doubled home Delgado before scoring himself on Bobby Dalbec's lone hit and RBI of the game. Ernesto Martinez Jr. put the tenth and final run on the board for the Sounds with a towering two-run home run, capping off a comprehensive victory.
This series win will provide a significant boost to the Nashville Sounds as they push for a stronger position in the International League standings.
