Hall's Contribution Helps Nashville SweepDoubleheader

IslandStats.com
Adam Hall played a key role as his Nashville Sounds teammates swept a doubleheader against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Wednesday night at AutoZone Park. In the first-ever meeting between these two teams, both of whom entered the day as top-ten sides in the International League for ERA, pitching was the order of the day, with the Sounds ultimately securing a pair of tight victories.

In the opening game, a seven-inning affair, Hall and his Nashville teammates shut out the RailRiders 3-0. Hall contributed offensively, going 1 for 2 from the plate and also scoring a run.

Hall's key moment in the opener came in the bottom of the third inning. After singling on a ground ball to centre field and advancing Raynel Delgado to second, Hall then scored the Sounds' second run when Bobby Dalbec followed up with a line drive single to centre field. Earlier in the inning, Delgado had scored on a groundout by Jimmy Herron after Hall's single. Hall's only other at-bat in the game saw him ground out in the bottom of the fifth.

The nightcap proved to be an even closer contest, with Nashville edging Scranton/Wilkes-Barre by a narrow 2-1 scoreline.

Hall continued his solid night at the plate in Game two, once again going 1 for 2. While his first appearance saw him ground out in the bottom of the third, his crucial contribution came in the bottom of the fifth inning with the scoreline finely balanced at 1-1. Hall hit his second triple of the season, a ground ball that found its way to left field. Freddy Zamora then stepped up and hit a sacrifice fly to right field, allowing Hall to score the winning run for the Nashville Sounds.

Hall's contributions both with the bat and on the base paths proved vital as the Nashville Sounds secured a hard-fought doubleheader sweep over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
