The Michael Preece Softball Diamond was the scene of an offensive explosion last night, as a staggering 107 runs crossed the plate in a thrilling triple header of Bermuda Softball League action. The fans were treated to a barrage of hits and high scores as the season continued its exciting pace.
The opening game set the tone for the night, with the Angels delivering a dominant performance to defeat the Rainbows 27-5. Debbie DeShields was a key offensive force for the Angels, going 3 for 5 at the plate with a double, a triple, and four RBIs. For the Rainbows, Abigail Kempe managed a double and two RBIs in her one hit out of three at-bats.
Game two saw another high-scoring affair as Home None overcame the PHC Zebras 21-13. Nathan Clarke led the charge for Home None, driving in five runs with three hits in four at-bats. Despite the loss, Lewis Raymoso was a standout for the PHC Zebras, going 3 for 4 with a double, a home run, and six RBIs.
The final match of the night proved to be the closest and highest-scoring encounter, with the Southampton Rangers edging out the Power Pitches 22-19. Donte Brangman was a key contributor for the Rangers, going 4 for 5 with a double, a home run, and four RBIs. Despite a herculean effort from Dylan Sumerville of the Power Pitches, who went a perfect 5 for 5 at the plate, including an incredible three home runs and eight RBIs, his team ultimately fell just short.
The latest round of Bermuda Softball League action showcased the offensive firepower prevalent in the league, with each game delivering a high run total and plenty of excitement for those in attendance at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond.
