Adam Hall and his Nashville Sounds teammates continued their strong run against the Memphis Redbirds, securing their third victory in just 24 hours with a 3-1 win on Thursday afternoon. This latest triumph gives the Sounds, the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, a commanding three-game lead in the six-game series.
While the offensive fireworks of Wednesday's doubleheader were less prominent, the pitching of Jacob Misiorowski once again took centre stage. The right-hander delivered a dominant performance, working a career-high seven innings and allowing just a single run, although he didn't factor into the decision.
Memphis managed to score first, registering their only run of the series so far with a solo home run off the bat of Thomas Saggese in the bottom of the first inning. However, Misiorowski quickly regained control, retiring eight of the next nine batters he faced. A leadoff walk in the fourth inning briefly threatened, but MLB Pipeline's No. 72 overall prospect responded with a fly out and induced an inning-ending double play to navigate through four innings with only two hits conceded.
Outfielder Adam Hall's contributions on the day were more focused on late-game impact. He grounded out in the top of the second and struck out swinging in the top of the fourth. In the top of the sixth, Hall grounded out to first base. However, with the score locked at 1-1 in the top of the ninth inning and a runner on first, Hall delivered a crucial single on a ground ball to left field, advancing Wes Clarke to second. Freddy Zamora followed with a sacrifice bunt, moving Clarke to third and Hall to second. Jimmy Herron then stepped up and singled on a line drive to left field, scoring Clarke and advancing Hall to third. Nick Kahle followed with a sacrifice bunt of his own, allowing Hall to score an insurance run and seal the 3-1 victory for the Nashville Sounds.
