Bermudian harness racing driver Kiwon Waldron had a busy night of qualifying races at Harrah's Hoosier Park in Indiana, taking to the track in three separate events across both the Pace and Trot disciplines. These qualifying races are crucial for horses and drivers aiming to compete in future pari-mutuel events.
Waldron's evening commenced in Race 1, a qualifier in the Pace Class. He was in the sulky behind Midnite's Pro, guiding the horse to a fourth-place finish with a recorded time of 1 minute, 55 and four-fifths of a second (1:55.4). This provided a solid start to Waldron's qualifying efforts.
He returned to the track for Race 5, another qualifying event in the Pace division. This time, Waldron partnered with Spirt And Heart. The duo completed the mile distance in 1 minute and 54 flat (1:54.0), finishing in sixth position.
Waldron's final qualifying drive of the night came in Race 6, as he switched to the different gait of the Trot Class. He was in the bike of Dontbatheme, guiding the trotter to a fifth-place finish with a time of 2 minutes, 2 and four-fifths of a second (2:02.4).
While victory lane eluded Waldron on this occasion, participating in three qualifying races in a single night demonstrates his continued commitment to preparing horses for competitive racing at Harrah's Hoosier Park.
