Hall's Hits Helps Nashville Sounds Clinch Series Victory

IslandStats.com
Adam Hall played a key role as his Nashville Sounds teammates wrapped up their series against the Norfolk Tides in style, securing a decisive 7-2 victory to take the series. After falling behind 2-0 early in the contest, the Sounds rallied impressively, scoring the final seven unanswered runs, including a crucial four-run burst in the fifth inning.

Bermuda's Adam Hall enjoyed a productive day at the plate, going 2 for 4. After grounding out to end the second inning, Hall sparked the pivotal fifth-inning rally by leading off with a sharp line drive double to right field, his third two-bagger of the season. Hall would later score in the same inning, crossing the plate on a double from Jared Oliva.

Hall wasn't finished there. In the bottom of the sixth inning, he added another hit to his tally, singling on a ground ball up the middle. His performance at the top of the order provided a valuable spark for the Nashville offence.

On the pitching side, Brandon Woodruff continued his rehab assignment, starting the game and working into the third inning. In his sixth rehab start, the right-hander allowed just two hits and one run while striking out three before handing the ball over to Sam McWilliams, who recorded the final two outs of the third. McWilliams entered a bases-loaded jam and saw the Tides take an early 2-0 lead on a wild pitch before managing to escape further damage.

The Nashville offence began to find its rhythm in the fourth inning. Jared Oliva led off with the first of his three hits, a single. Anthony Seigler then cut the deficit in half with a two-out RBI single, extending his hitting streak and picking up his third RBI of the series. The momentum swung firmly in Nashville's favour in the bottom of the fifth. Oliva delivered the crucial blow, lacing a bases-loaded two-RBI double to give the Sounds the lead. Jorge Alfaro extended the advantage later in the inning with a two-out, two-RBI single for his only hit of the day.

Left-handed reliever Bruce Zimmermann was outstanding for Nashville, working four scoreless innings and striking out a season-high six batters while allowing just one hit. Craig Yoho followed with a scoreless inning in the eighth, striking out the side despite issuing a couple of walks. Nashville added two insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth, courtesy of RBI singles from Oliver Dunn and a third RBI of the day for Oliva. Jesus Liranzo closed out the game with a clean ninth inning, striking out two to seal the series victory for the Sounds.
