Adam Hall played a key role as his Nashville Sounds and the Gwinnett Stripers split their double header on Thursday night at Coolray Field. The Sounds took the opening seven-inning game 6-2, while the Stripers responded with a 5-0 shutout in the second.
Hall was instrumental in Nashville's 6-2 victory in the first game. The Bermudian went 2 for 3 at the plate, driving in two runs. In the top of the 4th inning, Hall hit a ground ball single to left field, which took a deflection off shortstop Eddys Leonard, allowing Raynel Delgado to score. Hall then showed his speed on the basepaths, stealing second for his fourth stolen base of the season.
His second RBI came in the top of the 6th inning when he hit a sharp ground ball single to second baseman David Fletcher, bringing Anthony Seigler home and advancing Jimmy Herron to third base. Hall also recorded another stolen base in the game, showcasing his all-round contribution to the Sounds' victory.
However, the second game saw a reversal of fortunes for Hall and the Sounds. In the nightcap, Hall went 0 for 4 at the plate as the Gwinnett Stripers shut out Nashville 5-0. Despite Hall's strong performance in the first game, the Sounds' offense struggled to find their rhythm in the second, resulting in the split decision on the night.
