Four Players Continue in Germany

The four Bermuda players continued competing in one of the biggest squash tournaments ever, The World Masters Championships is taking place in Germany with over 900 competitors.

Undefeated Denise Kyme playing Pool C of the Women’s 55 and Over Division took on also undefeated Carolyn Roylance from England. Roylance defeated Kyme in straight sets 11 – 6, 12 – 10, 11 – 2. Kyme who finished second in Pool C then moved into the Play-off’s, playing for a positions of 1 – 8 Kyme went down to her opponent Vicki Cardwell from Australia in straight sets 11 – 1, 11 – 7, 11 – 2.

Eugene Bothello went down to his opponent from Wales Mark Huxtable in straight sets 11 - 3, 11 - 2, 11 – 9. Bothello then advanced to the Men’s 45 & Over Plate Division, where he defeated Torsten Semsroth from Germany in five sets 9 – 11, 13 – 11, 11 – 4, 10 – 12, 11 – 4.

Playing in the Men’s 55 and Over Division Tony Prentice went down in straight sets to Knut Dannfeld from the Netherlands 12 - 10, 11 - 3, 11 – 3.

Also playing in the Men’s 55 & Over Plate Division John Stout went down in five sets to Klaus-Dieter Helms from Germany 14 - 12, 2 - 11, 6 – 11, 11 – 8, 8 – 11.
