Four Bermuda Equestrians Compete in Guadeloupe

Four Bermudian Equestrians headed to Guadeloupe to compete in the 2024 Grand Caraibe Jumping Championship.

Representing Bermuda were Raishun Burch, Kimoy Cruickshank, Sierra Wolfe, and Emma Kempe.

Wolfe riding Enjie won the Elite Class with a score of 7, and Burch and D’Amour Z finished 9 with 18 points.

Cruickshank finished 3rd in the Grand Prix with a total of 10 points.

In the Youth Class, Kempe riding Alaknanda finished 13th with a score of 30.

Bermuda Dressage Show Round-Up

The Bermuda Dressage Federation hosted their final Dressage Show of the season at the National Equestrian Center on Vesey Street.

The High Score Winners for the event were Lila Readdy in the Junior Division, and Michael Rodriques in the Adult Division.

Rodrigues scored a score of 69.44% competing in the First Test 3 Class riding Domino Effect, while Readdy riding Ladybug had a score of 67.93 competing in the Training Test 2 Class.

Trio Heading to Jumping Championship in Guadeloupe

Three Bermudian Equestrians are heading to Guadeloupe to compete in the 2024 Grand Caraibe Jumping Championship beginning May 8th – 12th.

Representing Bermuda will be Kimoy Cruickshank, Sierra Wolfe, and Emma Kempe.

The Grand Caraibe comprises 4 competitions held during the 2023/2024 season. Although Bermuda did not have representation at the first competition held in French Guyana in October 2023, Bermuda did have representation at the October 2023 competition held in Suriname as well as the February 2024 competition held in Martinique.

The competition is held over two days, the first day is a speed class at various jumping heights, while the second day of competition comprises “Jump-Off” Classes again at varying heights.

This will be Wolfe and Kempe's first experience competing in the Grand Caraibe Championships, while Cruickshank successfully competed in Suriname and Martinique.

The Bermuda riders will be coached by Bermudian Grand Prix rider, Raishun Burch, while the team Manager will be Caribbean Equestrian Association President and FEI Official, Heidi Shelley Mello.

The 2024 edition of the event will bring together riders from Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana, Suriname, Barbados, St. Martin, Antigua, Haiti, Jamaica, and Bermuda.

Agricultural Exhibition Equestrian Day Two 2024
Equestrian events continued as the 2024 Agricultural Exhibition moved into the second day at the Botanical Gardens.

Melody Greenslade riding Random Renegade won the Pleasure Driving Horse Single Class, the Driving Horse in Hand Class was won by Glen Smith and J.S. Magic.

Bella Rodrigues riding Puff The Magic Dragon won the Riding Pony in Hand Juniors Class, and Simone Sainsbury riding Face Off won the EQJ05 Junior Equitation over Fences 0.80m Class.

Agricultural Exhibition Equestrian Day One 2024
The ever-popular Agricultural Exhibition got underway at the Botanical Gardens.

David Burch the Minister of Works had the honor of officially opening the three-day spectacle.

Several Equestrian competitions took to the center ring on the opening day with Daniel Greenslade riding Random Raider winning the Parade Horse and Ponies Class.

Abby Bardgett riding& Up, Up & Away, and Courtney Bromby riding Worth The Wait won the Riding Horse & or Pony Pairs Class, and Sierra Wollfe riding Farsi Forza won the EQAOS Adult Equitation Class.
