Famous Wins ULM Warhawk Classic Women's High Jump

Sakari Famous and her McNeese Track and Field teammates closed out the regular-season portion of its schedule, with most of the team competing at the ULM Warhawk Classic while a couple of middle-distance runners ran at the LSU Invitational.

At ULM, McNeese posted eight first-place finishes with six of those coming from the Women. In addition, eight personal records were broken while six season-best marks were set.

Famous won the Women’s High Jump after clearing 5 feet 9.25 inches or 1.75m.

This Friday evening May 3rd the Bermuda Pacers Track Club in conjunction with the title sponsor AIG will host the 15th Annual Schools Relay Classic at the Flora Duffy South Field Stadium at the National Sports Center.

www.islandstats.com will bring you Live Coverage beginning at 5:25 pm

For the past five years, AIG has been the title sponsor for this great track and field event.

The event, which starts at 5:30 pm will have 22 public and private schools compete in the 4 by 100 and 4 by 400-meter Relays.

The first event of the evening will see the Primary School Boys and Girls compete in the preliminary rounds of the 4-by-100-meter Relay events.

At 6:30 pm the club has organized a few special events that will see Male and Female Special Olympic athletes compete in the 100 meters.

The club has also sent out invitations to local Football teams to come out and compete in a special 4 by 100-meter Relay Race.

At 7:00 pm all schools will be involved in the 4 by 400-meter Relays. This event is a time final.

The featured events of the evening start at 8:00 pm with the Finals of the 4 by 100-meter Relays.

Defending champions, Harrington Sound Primary, Dellwood Middle School, and Cedarbridge Academy will be out to defend their titles. The winning schools will each collect a check for $500.00 that will go towards the athletic program in their schools and the prestigious Relay Classic trophy.

Outerbridge Finishes 2nd in Central Ct State Meet

Ryan Outerbridge competed in the Central Ct State University Track Meet in Connecticut.

Outerbridge finished 2nd in the Men’s 3000 race clocking a time of 8:28:57.

Outerbridge was also a member of the Franklin Pierce Men’s 4x400m Relay team that finished 5th clocking a time of 3:53:28.

Trio Represent UMBC at Penn Relays

Za'Kayza Parsons, Caitlyn Bobb, and Keturah Bulford-Trott represented UMBC at the Penn Relays.

The trio alongside Chaliana DaCosta finished the College Women’s 4x100 Meter Championship of America Relay Preliminaries in 16th place clocking a time of 46.42

Bulford-Trott ran the anchor leg for the UMBC College Women's 4x200 Meter Championship of America Relay team that finished 19th clocking 1:42.81.

Bobb ran the anchor leg for the UMBC College Women's 4x400 Meter Championship of America Relay team that finished 14th clocking 3:43.67.

Trio Compete in Mount Dora Christian Invitational

Ellise Dickinson and Miles Outerbridge represented Montverde Academy, while Cameron Basden represented the Foundation Academy at the Mount Dora Christian Invitational #3, hosted by Mount Dora, in Florida.

Dickinson finished 2nd competing in the Girls' 100 Meters clocking a time of 12.39.

During the Girls' 400 Meters, Dickinson clocked a winning time of 56.47.

Outerbridge would finish second competing in the Boys' 200 Meters clocking 22.31.

Basden won the Boys' Long Jump with a top leap of 6.73m or 22 feet 1 inch.

Basden would then finish 2nd in the Boys' Triple Jump leaping 12.75m or 41 feet, 10 inches.

Basden would represent the Foundation Academy in the Boys 4x100 Meters relay where they clocked a winning time of 42.78.
