Budgies 2 Griffins 2
A late surge from the Griffins saw them snatch a 2-2 draw against the Budgies in a pulsating Bermuda Field Hockey match at the National Sports Center.
The Griffins drew first blood in the 29th minute, with Abby Brewer finding the back of the net with a well-taken field goal. However, the Budgies responded just before half-time, levelling the score at 1-1 through a Jessica Charles penalty conversion in the 37th minute.
The Budgies carried their momentum into the second half, taking the lead just two minutes after the restart through a Kascia DeSilva field goal. With a 2-1 advantage, it looked as though the Budgies might fly away with the victory.
However, the Griffins showed their resilience, battling back to equalise in the 55th minute. Heather Sinclair's field goal ensured a share of the points in a thrilling encounter that could have gone either way.
The Budgies will be pleased with their fightback, while the Griffins will be happy to have salvaged a point from a challenging match.
