Blake Montgomery and the London Knights extended their impressive run with a 3-1 victory over the North Bay Battalion, thanks to strong performances from Denver Barkey and Oliver Bonk.
The Knights, currently atop the Ontario Hockey League standings, embarked on a three-game road trip with a solid win in North Bay. Barkey, the London captain, and defenceman Bonk, both Philadelphia Flyers prospects, each contributed a goal and an assist.
The game started with a flurry of action, with goals just 36 seconds apart. North Bay's Kent Greer opened the scoring before Easton Cowan, extending his remarkable point streak to 62 games, set up Bonk for the equalizer.
London took the lead in the first period through Henry Brzustewicz, who finished off a pass from Montgomery with a clinical shot. They extended their advantage in the second period with Sam Dickinson's power-play goal.
Barkey sealed the victory with an empty-net goal in the final minute, securing another win for the high-flying Knights.
Goaltender Austin Elliott continued his impressive form, improving to 19-0-0-0 in a London uniform. His consistent performances between the pipes have been a key factor in the Knights' success this season.
This latest victory further solidifies London's position as a top contender in the OHL. With their blend of offensive firepower, defensive solidity, and exceptional goaltending, they will be aiming to maintain their winning ways as they continue their quest for the championship title.
