The York University Lions field hockey team will have five fresh faces on the roster this season as head coach Zeeshan Minhas continues to add more talent to his champion-caliber team.
The quintet includes Chrysda Smith, who the coach is hoping will add a new dimension to the two-time defending OUA champion Lions.
Smith joins the Lions from Bermuda, where she has been playing field hockey since the age of 11 with the Ravens Field Hockey Club.
Smith has represented Bermuda Internationally in qualifying games for the Central American and Caribbean championships, scoring her first goal as the youngest member of the team.
Smith attended the Michigan State University Field Hockey camp and was named Most Valuable Player of the Under-21 tour in Philadelphia.
