In the opener the Ottawa Senators defeated the Edmonton Oilers 3 – 1, the Ottawa Senators got single strikes off the sticks of Andrew Curnow, Cory Caouette and Ed Sweeney, while the Edmonton Oilers lone strike came from Josh Bush.
Vancouver Canucks 4 Winnipeg Jets 6
In the nightcap the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Vancouver Canucks 6 – 4. The Winnipeg Jets were led to victory by Jeremy Estey who scored a hat-trick, while Matt Benson scored twice and Shane Matchett added the other, while the Vancouver Canucks got goals from Dustin Luck, Nathan Kowalski, Andrew Leavy and Christopher Jackson.
