Maha Clarke and her Queens University of Charlotte Field Hockey teammates traveled to face Lindenwood University, falling 5-3.
Lindenwood took a 3-1 lead into the break after opening the game with two goals in the first 10 minutes of action. Jenna Lloyd answered for Queens with a goal at 10:56. Lindenwood then put their final point of the half on the board in the 18th.
Both teams would score two goals each in the second half with Lindenwood's coming in the 43rd and 48th, giving them a 5-1 lead. Queens responded in the 50th with a goal from Mazvita Mtisi to close the gap to three, and another goal from Renee Smith followed in the 69th to bring Queens within two, 5-3. Unfortunately, that was as close as they would get before time expired.
Queens was outshot, 17-12, by Lindenwood, putting eight shots on goal to the Lions' 13. Kelsey Fringer totaled eight saves in the cage.
