The Budgies were crowned the Bermuda Hockey Federation’s 2011-2012 Women’s B Division Champions following the 1 – 1 draw with the Bluebirds.
In an excellent and well matched game that had everyone on their toes, the Budgies just had to draw since they had the better goal difference, which meant that Bluebirds had to win the game. The Budgies went in front in the 38th minute when Melanie Fullerton scored from a Penalty Corner, but Tracy MacPhee equalized for the Bluebirds with a Penalty Corner goal in the 62nd minute and with no further goals the Budgies was able to celebrate the title.
