The Minnesota North Stars defeated the Colorado Rockies 12 – 7 in the first of a Bermuda Ball-Hockey double header inside the BAA Gymnasium.
Jeff Ingelman led the North Stars to victory with 5 goals, while Monte Palsat added a hat-trick. The North Stars also got goals from Chris Grantier scored twice, while Rob Decarolis and Dan Bordage both scored a goal each. Chris Merritt scored 5 times for the Rockies, who also got a goal each from Matthieu Desjardins and Greg Vandermade added a goals apiece.
In the nightcap, the Winnipeg Jets defeated Toronto Arenas 12 – 10. Ted Herman and Cam Poland both found the net 5 times each to lead the Jets to victory, while Darren Maksymetz and Wayne Newhook both added a goal apiece. Dave Gazzard scored four times for Toronto, while Tom Washington scored three times, the Jets got single strikes from Ronnie Durzus, Barrie King and Nathan Kowalski.
