Marcello Wainwright’s Toronto Arrows announced a pair of pre-season events as the club continues preparations for its upcoming 2020 Major League Rugby campaign.
Following several weeks of pre-season training sessions in Toronto, the Arrows will travel to the warmer climes of Las Vegas in mid-January to participate in a mini-camp, the club’s Nevada sojourn will culminate with a friendly against the Utah Warriors on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020. The pre-season clash will kick off at 4:00pm, and also serves as a Sin City tune-up ahead of the league’s marquee MLR Vegas Weekend on Feb. 15th & 16th, 2020.
For the second year running, Toronto will also head down the Queen Elizabeth Way for a controlled scrimmage with Rugby United New York. The dry run will once again be held at the Buffalo Bills’ practice facility – the ADPRO Sports Training Center – in Orchard Park, NY, and will begin at noon. There will be no admission fee to attend the scrimmage, though space is limited for spectators and standing room will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Arrows will begin their second campaign in North America’s top-flight professional rugby league with a road match against the Austin Herd on Sunday, Feb. 9th, 2020. Following seven consecutive matches played away from Toronto, the club will play seven of its final nine matches at home between April 4 and May 31 to close out its sophomore MLR regular season.
