Brynley Toms and his Bedwas teammates entertain local rivals Bargoed this weekend as they look for a fourth successive victory to maintain pole position in what is becoming a very competitive Principality Welsh Premiership East Division.
Head coach Ian Gardner was delighted with last weekend’s win at Merthyr but knows his side are in for a hard game this week. “Bargoed are improving all the time” he said “they have had two narrow losses and had they won those games could well be vying for the top spot. The boys are under no illusion that this will be a hard game.
”Gardner acknowledged that it is “Great that the team has had some excellent media reviews in the past week but it’s important we keep the momentum going.
The team selected shows a few tweaks. Chris Budgen starts at tight head prop having made a great impact off the bench recently with Toms moving to the bench. Behind Mike Hathaway starts at fullback and Lewis Evans comes in for the unavailable Steffan Jones at outside half.
