In the Americas Region for Rugby World Cup Qualifying, two teams will qualify directly to the World Cup and the third place will enter a playoff against the third place European team and the second place African and Asian teams.
The qualification process will start with regional qualification tournaments. First a Caribbean tournament will be held from March to June, 2012. South America's Second Division 2012 South American Rugby (Division B) will be the next tournament to take place.
The two regional champions will advance to a playoff to decide who would face the last place team from Consur A in a playoff for promotion to Consur A. The host of each playoff will be the higher ranked team.
In 2013, Canada and USA will play a two match series for qualification to the 2015 Rugby World Cup as the Americas 1 seed.
The loser of this series will face the winner of the 2013 Consur A championship in a two match series for qualification to the 2015 Rugby World Cup as the Americas 2 seed. The loser of that series will continue to the Final Place Playoff.
19 teams will participate in the qualifying process, one more than in 2011. The only change in participation will be Costa Rica making their Rugby World Cup qualifying debut.
Bermuda will enter the tournament in Round 2, where they will host a home game at the National Sports Center Field on May 19th.
Bermuda will face the winners of Pool A Round 1, the three teams in Pool A include Cayman Islands, Jamaica and Mexico.
Bermuda will learn their opponents on April 21st, Bermuda will also travel to Bahamas on June 9th where they will play their final game of the round.
