Bermuda’s Olympian Tyler Butterfield and Britain’s Tim Don sat down with www.islandstats.com at the National Sports Center to talk about the Sport and their Careers.
Britain’s 3 x Olympian, 4 x ITU World Champion and Ironman Don is on the island with Butterfield as a special guest at this year’s first World Triathlon Bermuda Kids Coaching Clinic, which will take place on Sunday at the Sports Center.
Don is perhaps most inspiring for the way he has overcome adversity. At the height of his career as the fastest Ironman triathlete of all time, a cycling crash left him with a broken neck just days before the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, where he was a favorite to win.
“The crash could have ended his career but he didn’t let it stop him. He wore a full ‘halo’ head brace for 3-months and worked his way back into competition. He produced an inspiring documentary – The Man with the Halo.”
