Pilgrim Crashes in Costa Rica & Duffy Happy ITU Event is Off

Nicholas Pilgrim competed in the 2020 Playa Hermosa PATCO Sprint Triathlon Panamerican Cup and Central American & Caribbean Championships in Costa Rica.
Pilgrim Did Not Finish the race, Pilgrim started off with a great Swim, clocking 9:49, Pilgrim came out of the water with the main pack with the Elites.
Pilgrim had dropped off the lead pack pace, but was in the second bike pack with the elites, Pilgrim then got caught up in a crash on the turn at the end of the first bike lap - it was 2 laps of 10K Bike Course.
Pilgrim was transported to the hospital in Costa Rica, he needed stitches to close a gash on his knee and he was put into a cast on his broken hand.
Meanwhile Flora Duffy wrote on Social Media, “So the news is out, World Triathlon Series Season Opener Abu Dhabi is postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak in the area.
Thanks to the ITU, LOC and local government for making a swift and safe decision.
I was really looking forward to starting the season, but I guess I’ll have to wait a few more weeks!”
