As we begin the countdown to the CARIFTA Triathlon and Aquathlon which will take place September 28th & 29th in Tobago will see Bermuda represented by 20 athletes.

Ava Gabai-Maiato - 11-12 Girls Triathlon and Aquathlon
Ava became curious about triathlon after hearing about it through a couple of her teammates in 2016 and quickly became hooked. She began regularly attending Tri-Hedz sessions as well as participating in various swimming, cycling and running races in Bermuda. CARIFTA will be her first international competition and she is thrilled to represent Bermuda!
Fenella Wightman – 11-12 Girls Triathlon and Aquathlon
Fenella is in Year 7 at Bermuda High School. She has been competing in triathlon for the past two years. In June 2017, Fenella won the 7-10 girls division of the Clarien Iron Kids Triathlon. She was also part of the Bermuda High School team which won the Primary Division of the Tokio Millennium Re Sprint Triathlon in September 2017. Fenella is an avid swimmer and a member of Harbour Swim Club.
Daria Desmond – 11-12 Girls Triathlon and Aquathlon
Daria is a competitive swimmer who has represented Bermuda at overseas swimming competitions in Canada. This year she also swam at the Irish Summer Nationals. Daria is an avid runner and has competed in various local running and junior triathlon events in Bermuda, including running the Front Street Mile for the last 3 years. She has represented her school in both track and cross-country running. Daria is very excited to represent Bermuda in the CARIFTA Triathlon and Aquathlon and looks forward to meeting lots of new young athletes from other countries who share her love of the sport.
