Micah Pond has been selected to captain the National Champion Brookhaven College Lady Bears for the upcoming 2018/19 season. A vote was taken with all the players and Pond got the most votes by a huge margin.
After a great freshman season where Pond exceeded all expectations with her stellar play in the midfield, it was a pretty easy decision to select her as captain.
As a freshman starter Pond was a true leader on the field. Her vision and passing was phenomenal. And her ball striking, tackling and aerial ability was vital for the Lady Bear's to win the treble (Conference, Regional and National Tournaments).
Brookhaven College assistant coach Robert Williams said, “It's going to be a pleasure watching Pond lead the Lady Bears out this season. Hopefully she can lead Brookhaven to another National Title this year and do her team, school, family and country proud.”
