The 2017 AON National Sprint Triathlon Championships took place at Southside, with Alan Potts and Karen Smith crowned the Male and Female Champions.
Heavy waves, rain and wet roads made the event that more challenging as St John’s Ambulance personnel were kept busy.
Potts clocked a winning time of 1:00:02, with Geoff Smith second clocking 1:01:26 and Neil De Ste Croix finished third with a time of 1:02:02.
Smith was 7th overall crossing the line in 1:05:08, Maddie Durkin was the second female finisher and 9th overall in a time of 1:08:02 and Rebecca Shepherd was the third female finisher and 16th overall clocking 1:12:13.
