Bermuda’s Tyler Smith and Erica Hawley both competed in the 2016 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final in Cozumel.
Smith finished the Junior Men’s race 43rd crossing the line in a time of 58.01, Smith finished 4.01 behind the winner Austin Hindman from the USA who clocked a winning time of 54.02.
Smith came out of the water with the lead group in 10th place covering the 750m Swim in 9.08, he then recorded a 4 laps 20K Bike Course in a time of 28.09, before closing out with a time of 19.38 over the 5K Run Distance.
In the Women’s Junior race Hawley finished 46th with an overall1:05.40, the Defending Champion Taylor Knibb from the USA won the race with a time of 59 :05.
Hawley found herself over a minute down after the Swim clocking 10.53, Hawley ended up in a chasing pack on the Bike Course she was clocked at 32.09, she then stopped the clock after covering the Run Course in a time of 21.27.
