Eight individuals were crowned Champions during the XL Catlin Bermuda National Olympic Distance Championships at the Clearwater Beach.
Ashley Estwanik and Steven Smith are the Olympic Distance Female and Male Champions, while Karen Smith and Sam Boaden are the Sprint Distance Female and Male Champions.
Caleb Ingham and Amber Simons are the 11 – 15 Male and Female Champions, while Harlan Watson-Brown and Jasmin Hasselkuss are the Junior 7 – 10 Male and Female Champions.
Estwanik stormed to victory in the Olympic Distance taking the lead on the second run lap and never looked back stopping the clock in a time of 2:20:39, Smith was second overall after beginning the run just behind Ian Henderson, he was able to cross the line in a time of 2:26:47, while third place overall went to the second female finisher Martina Olcheski-Bell who clocked 2:28:29.
Taking the Sprint Title was Smith who looked comfortable returning from injury, she was clocked across the line in 1:12:27, second place Sam Boaden who had an accident during the bike course and need medical assistance following the race clocked a time of 1:15:34, Yannick Hillier was third overall and the second male with a time of 1:16:10.
Ingham put together a strong performance in the Junior 11 – 15 Age Group clocking a time of 30.17. Blake Oliveira finished second in a time of 31.40 and Rudi Hammond finished third in a time of 33.37, Simons was 4th overall with a time of 34.36.
Watson-Brown was able to hold off the challenge of his brother Flynn Watson-Brown in the Junior 7 – 10 Age Group to record the win with a time of 17:13 with Flynn clocking 17:39, Hasselkuss was the third finisher with a time of 18:26.
