After a slightly nervous call to go ahead despite what looked like bad weather again triathletes turned out to the Thursday night Supersprint.
The weather actually held off until the very end and so a good time was had by all. Kent Richardson had to fight hard to hold first place ahead of Erica Hawley. She may have beaten him had she remembered her cycle shoes, but she battled on her bike in regular sneakers like the real trooper she is.
Richardson clocked 25.10, with Hawley recording a time of 25.19.
Tommy and Jessie Marshall came second male and female. On a night where everyone cycled with at least a bit of caution on slippery roads there were no other real battles. There were however some very honorable mentions Ros Wingate swears that she would have been at least 20 seconds faster if she hadn't stopped to empty her shoe of an imaginary cockroach!
Judy Tucker and Kwun Yah Lam put in there first appearance of the season. Meanwhile DeeAH Iris impressed everyone by turning up to do her very first triathlon on a miserable looking night and begging us to let her complete the final lap of the run although it was definitely raining by then. The only special distance run was Nick Pilgrim who did the swim
