Bermuda's Erica Hawley has finished second in the Female Elite 2016 San Andres CAMTRI Triathlon Junior Central American and Caribbean Championships in Colombia. Meanwhile Tyler Smith finished 7th in the Junior Men's Elite race.

It was a brutally tough day of racing for both Smith and Hawley. The course had a tough Bike Course with a severe climb on each of 4 laps, while they also had to deal with insanely hot weather.
The race started 2 hours late.
Hawley came out of water in 2nd with a small group of girls, Solis Guerrero immediately powered away on the bike with Genesis Montilla from Venezuela. Hawley and Beatriz Dumet from Brazil worked together in 3rd and 4th.
Hawley was 4th starting the run and Dumet started to pull away. On the start of the 2nd lap Hawley was still in 4th but the Brazilian and Venezuelan were close enough for Hawley to see. She just dug so deep and worked her way up to 2nd on that 2nd lap of run and she got the Silver!!
Hawley clocked a time of 10:48 on the Swim, 40:49 on the Bike Course and 22:21 on the Run Course, while Smith clocked a time of 9:41 during the Swim, 34:02 on the Bike and 20:55 on the Run Course.
