Tyler Smith produced one of the strongest Bermuda performances of the season finishing 10th during the European Triathlon Union's Junior Elite Series race in Chateauroux, France against some of Europe's and other Nations top Junior Triathletes.
There were 47 starters and Smith finished just 34 seconds off a podium finish.
Reigning Male Junior Athlete of the Year Smith still has two more years to race in this Age Group and his result will give him some confidence as he heads for Magog, Quebec, Canada to compete in next weekend's Canadian Junior Elite Championships.
Smith completed the 750 meter Swim in a time of 9:25, he then completed the 20km Bike Course clocking 30:03 and then he completed the 5km Run Course in a time of 16:46 clocking an overall time of 58:49 and was just 5 secs out of 7th place.
Matthew Roberts from Australia finished first crossing the line in a time of 57:48, while Great Britain’s Jack Willis was second in 58:00 and Daniel Baekkegard was third in 58:15.
