Duffy at the Finish Line IslandStats.com Flora Duffy’s run as an Xterra winner continued when she was the 12th finisher overall in the Xterra South Africa Championship hosted at the Grabouw Country Club in South Africa in a time of 2:45:27.
Duffy was the 10th Individual finisher and the first Female Pro.
Duffy said, “I’m completely blown way. Having raced the past two weekends, I was actually tired coming into today’s race. I had a great swim, but at the start of the mountain bike my legs just weren’t there.
“I’m always told that I don’t have to feel good in order to go fast. I just kept reminding myself of that. The run was tough, but this time round Dan was out on the route giving me splits, that was nice. Winning here today is really special as South Africa has become my second home. It was here that I first got into the sport of XTERRA”.
Duffy covered the 1.5K Swim in a time of 18:47, she then completed the 28K Bike Course in a time of 1:30:16 she then closed out the event clocking 54:07 during the 12.5K Run.
