Despite the weather the Argo Re Summer Series Triathlon continued in some different conditions, over the last few weeks the competitors have had some extremely wonderful conditions to compete in.
As predicted by the weather forecast high winds and rain threatened to cancel the event, but the organizers soldiered on, but not surprisingly, given the weather, the event had the smallest field of the season, but it was a strong one.
Experienced Triathlete and former President of the Bermuda Triathlon Association Neil de Ste Croix was the winner, he crossed the line in a time of 24:36. Derek Atkins pushed him close until de Ste Croix pulled away during the run, Atkins clocked a time of 25:15, while last week's winner, Romar Douglas, again showed strongly in third place clocking 26:35.
Jennie Lightbourne’s time of 31:59 was this week's leading lady, she finished 7th overall, while Sarah Farr was a newcomer to the podium in second recording a time of 33:08. One spot back was the third Female finisher Marie Taylor who clocked a time of 33:58.
