15 year old Tyler Smith produced another outstanding performance finishing 18th out of 61 starters at the Canadian Junior Elite National Championships for 16-19 year olds.
Smith exited the 750 meter swim in 9.02 just behind the lead group who were clocked at 8:34 and then held his own on the bike posting a fast 30:21 for the 20km Bike. He then produced a solid run of 17:27 for a total of 1:59:17.
Russell Pennock, a member of the Canadian Junior Elite Training Programme and well known for his fast run, won the event as he posted 14:55 for the 5km run.
