Race Day 6 in this year's Argo Re Triathlon Summer Series took place on a perfect evening at Clearwater Beach. Light breezes and a flat sea made for great conditions.
Otis Ingham once again decided to give the field a head start in the Swim. It looked as if he'd left his charge too late going into the run, but he hauled in the leaders and finished a strong winner clocking a time of 26:09.
Byron Rencken finished close behind and at one point looked as if he might sneak up on Ingham at the last minute. Rencken has come on in leaps and bounds, crossing the line in a time of 26:16.
Charlie Pilgrim, back on holiday for the summer, was in third with a time of 26:47. He led until T2 but couldn't quite sustain the pace. After a week or two to acclimatize, he'll be a contender for first place.
Kim McIvor was, not for the first time, the leading lady. McIvor missed her personal best by an agonizing one second clocking 27:19 finishing 6th overall. Cathie Oliveira showed that Blake and Matthew aren't the only talented members of her family finished in second with a time of 27:48 finishing 10th overall and Megan Berry finished 11th overall with a time of 27:52, she once again showed a quick pair of heels finishing in third place.
Notably, all of them finished ahead of Bermuda Commonwealth Games contender Tucker Murphy, but don’t be alarmed Murphy did start late.
