IslandStats.com
Erica Hawley, Tyler Smith and Alex Pilgrim have just completed 6 days of training with USA Triathlon Northeast Region Junior coach Matthew Valyo as they prepare for this seasons elite, draft legal races.

The trio were joined on the camp by Tim MaCleod of Canada who races as a Junior for Canada.

They started each day with training at the National Sports Center Pool and Track and then moved to Clearwater in the afternoons for Open Water Swimming and Cycling.

The kids combined some hard training with lots of skills and race strategy work. Valyo worked with each of them separately and did video work in Swimming and Running which they analyzed later in the day.

Each of them have learned specific drills to practice over the next couple of months so they can improve their performances for the 2014 season.

They were at the camp from 8am to 5pm each day and all worked extremely hard during their school break.

Valyo said, "It's always a huge thrill for me to be able to come over here to Bermuda and work with these talented kids. They've worked very hard and been very receptive to the training that I put out for them. I believe they will each a have a very successful season"

Hawley, Smith and MaCleod are hoping to race in Monterrey, Mexico at the Youth Olympic Games Qualifier on May 2nd.

They have a number of races before then to hone the skills and fitness they have acquired during the camp. Pilgrim's first race is the Clermont F1 Elite Youth Race on March 2nd.
