The Caribbean Championship 2017 got underway at the National Squash Center, St George, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
In the Men’s First Round Korin Knights defeated Mikal Quashie from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in four games 11-7, 9-11, 11-8, 11-9, D'Vario Thompson defeated Tahjia Lumley from Jamaica in straight games 11-9, 11-6, 11-7, while Anthony Fellowes, Micah Franklin and Peter Drury all received a Bye.
In the Ladies Division Jayne Craig went down to Marie-Claire Barcant from Trinidad in straight games 11-6, 11-7, 11-5, Susie Lacey defeated Sumairaa Suleman from Barbados in straight games 11-9, 11-5, 11-4, while Meagan Jackson defeated Andrea Goodridge from Barbados in a five game match 11-4, 11-8, 5-11, 10-12, 13-11 and Emma Keane defeated Jaime-Leigh Edghill from Trinidad in four games 11-9, 9-11, 16-14, 11-3.
