On the opening night two matches needed three games while the other two were over in straight games.
Peter Nicol defeated Simon Parke but he needed three games to do so. Nicol won game one 11-2, but Parke would level the match at 1 - 1 when he won the second game 11-6. Nicol would then close out the match winning the third game 11-7.
Micah Franklin pulled off the upset defeating the World Masters Champion Nick Taylor in straight games 12-10, 11-9.
Jonathon Power defeated John White in a three game battle 11-7, 6-11, 11-9.
David Palmer defeated Joe Kneipp 11-5, 11-7.
