Muldoon Wins But Bates Fall

Bates sophomore Dylan Muldoon scored his team's lone point as the No. 18 nationally ranked Bobcats fell to NESCAC rival Trinity College, the powerhouse perennial champion of the College Squash Association, at the Bates Squash Center.

Muldoon downed Trinity's Graham Gozigian in four games after dropping the first, winning 5-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-5.

Canadian Junior Open Squash Tournament Final Day

Taylor Carrick was the final member of the Bermuda’s Junior National Squad that competed at the 2018 Canadian Junior Open in Niagara.

The tournament saw 300 participants competing from over 20 countries.

Carrick was playing in the Boy’s Under 19 Consolation Round Quarter Finals went down in straight games 12-10, 11-8, 11-8 to Israel Oliveros who would eventual finish in 17th place, while Carrick finished 21/24 in a field of 64 competitors.

Canadian Junior Open Squash Tournament Day Three

Members of the Bermuda team were back in action on Day Three of the Canadian Junior Open Squash Tournament.

In the Boy’s Under 17 Division, Matthew Elliott went down to Charlie McDonald from Canada 8-11, 11-4, 13-11, 11-5.

Taylor Carrick won two matches on his way to reaching the Boy’s Under 19 Consolation Division Semi-Finals, Carrick won his first match 11-4, 11-9, 11-3 against Daniel Gutierrez Gomez from Mexico, he would then defeat Philippe Shillington from Canada 11-2, 11-1, 11-1.

Abigail Brewer went down in her Girls Under 17 Plate 2 Division match in straight games 13-11, 11-6, 11-1 to Ocean Lewis from USA.

Bermuda players continued competing in the Canadian Junior Open Squash Tournament.

On Day Two, in the Boy’s Under 13 Consolation Division Ethan Rosorea went down in straight games 11-1, 11-5, 11-3 to Canadian Faraaz Khan. Andrew Cox was defeated by Calder Murray from Canada 11-1, 11-1, 11-5. Owen Rosorea also went down to Calder Murray from Canada 11-2, 11-1, 11-4.

In the Boy’s Under 17 Division, Matthew Elliott went down to Javier Fernandez Doddoli from Italy 11-9, 11-5, 9-11, 11-7, while Charlie Riker went down to Kiegan Grott from Canada 11-2, 11-8, 11-8.

Josai Williams went down in his Boy’s Under 19 Consolation Division match 11-3, 11-2, 11-5 to Esau Resendiz from Mexico, while Taylor Carrick won his match 11-1, 11-6, 11-7 over Jose Sanchez from Mexico.

Abigail Brewer went down in her Girls Under 17 Consolation Division match in straight games 12-10, 11-4, 11-8 to Jodi, Smith-Padmore from Barbados.

Bermuda players began competing in the Canadian Junior Open Squash Tournament.

On Day One, in the Boy’s Under 13 Division Ethan Rosorea went down in straight games 13-11, 11-9, 11-4 to Canadian Calder Murray. Andrew Cox was defeated by Salmon Benoit from Canada 11-1, 11-2, 11-1. Owen Rosorea went down to Khan Faraaz from Canada 11-2, 11-1, 11-4.

In the Boy’s Under 17 Division, Matthew Elliott went down to Griffin Manley from Canada 11-1, 11-3, 11-5, while Charlie Riker defeated Charlie McDonald from Canada 12-10, 11-6, 11-1.

Josai Williams went down in his Boy’s Under 19 Division match 11-1, 11-2, 11-3 to Matt Bicknell from Canada, while Taylor Carrick went down in a five match battle 7-11, 11-2, 16-14, 6-11, 11-6 to Mitchell Kahnert from Canada.

Abigail Brewer went down in her Girls Under 17 Division match in straight games 11-4, 11-7, 11-3 to Nicole Temple from Canada.
