Jarryd Richardson and his Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) Under 16 teammates drew 1 – 1 with Brighton and Hove Albion.
On a lovely day at Brighton's impressive AMEX Elite Football Performance Centre, it was Brighton that started the quickest and looked very lively in the first 10 minutes.
ISFA gradually grew into the half before working a couple of good one v one opportunities through Braiden Hall and Charlie Dixon.
However, it was a tight first half and the teams went in level at the break.
The second half was a more open affair as Brighton again came out quickly but, this time, were rewarded after the right winger cut inside before advancing and smashing the ball home.
However, ISFA regrouped and gradually settled in to their shape and became more of a threat. Creating several good opportunities in behind the Brighton defense, it was from the penalty spot that ISFA equalized.
Richardson showed great work in the middle to beat his man and send a lovely through ball to his fellow Ardingly student Alfie Baldock. Baldock rounded the 'keeper but was brought down and Joe Mcloughlin who calmly slotted the penalty home.
