Nolan Scores Five in Navarro College Win

IslandStats.com
The toughest job during Aaliyah Nolan and her Navarro College Women's Soccer teammates match against Jacksonville belonged to coach Oscar Lopez and Thalia Vasquez, an injured player.

Those two had to keep Navarro’s stats.

It was a hectic day of both of them. It usually is when a soccer team scores 12 goals one game and 6 the next.

Navarro’s Nolan and Deneisha Blackwood recorded five-goal hauls in consecutive matches four days apart against Region V foes Cisco and Hill.

As a result, Nolan and Blackwood now among the NJCAA’s top scorers with 15 goals between them.

Nolan scored five and dished out an assist in Navarro’s 12-0 win over Cisco, following up Blackwood’s five-goal performance in a 6-0 win at Hillsboro.

The last Navarro player to score 5 goals in one match was Nugene Nugent in a 12-0 win over Paris on September 23rd, 2012.

Nolan, now with eight goals on the season, ranks second in NJCAA scoring.

Blackwood ranks third in points (19) and shots (21). She is tied for fourth in goals scored (7) and also in assists with teammate Victoria Swift (5) —  behind national assist leading teammate Shantell Thompson (7).
