Teams in the Southern League Premier Division South in the UK, with Bermuda players on their rosters, battled as Slough Town Under 23’s took on Hartley Whitney Under 23’s.
Z’Dao Dill in only his 2nd game since making his long-awaited return from an ankle injury that has kept him out of the game since November scored the only goal against Hartley Whitney.
The game had extra motivation for Dill as he faced many of his Bermudian compatriots in Rahzir Jones, Ryan Lopes, Isaiah Blankendal, Aaron Gardner, and Darius Woolridge.
Dill playing in an unfamiliar position as a striker instead of a winger, regularly used his pace to put the opposition defence under pressure. The game was tight as both defenses held firm to limit scoring opportunities until Dill’s pace pounced on a lose-back pass to easily round the keeper to score into an empty net in the 2nd half. Slough defense held firm to see the game out to finish 1 - 0.
Dill will be hoping to return to the form and fitness he enjoyed prior to his injury to hopefully catch the eye of Kyle Lightbourne for the upcoming Nation League games in June.
