Leilanni Nesbeth and her No. 1 overall seed Florida State (FSU) Women’s Soccer teammates began the 2020-21 NCAA Tournament taking on Milwaukee and picked up a 3 – 0 win.
After a scoreless first half, Florida State took the lead in the 60th minute when Kristen Mcfarland scored. In the 76th minute Gabby Carle extended the Florida State lead, a corner was not cleared by Milwaukee, and McFarland’s shot from just inside the box found the back of the net.
Three minutes later it was 3 – 0 when Jaelin Howell made it 3-0, Howell picked up a loose ball some 25 yards out and her right-footed blast found the roof of the net.
Nesbeth and her teammates will face the winner of the Penn St. vs. Vanderbilt match.
