The first career goal for Towson University Women's Soccer freshman Nia Christopher stood up as the game-winning goal as they collected their first Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) win of the spring 2021 season.
Towson topped long-time foe Delaware 1-0 at Tiger Field.
Christopher shook off a defender at the top of the box, cutting back inside before beating the Delaware keeper Lauren Krinsky to her right in the 19th minute, which was the lone goal of the game.
Towson got a three-save shutout from rookie goalkeeper Riley Melendez, which was aided by Towson's offense pressuring Delaware for a majority of the game.
