Eva Frazzoni and her College of Saint Rose Women’s Soccer teammates, ranked #16 in the first regular-season United Soccer Coaches National Poll, held off a feisty Molloy team to remain unbeaten with a 2-1 non-conference victory.
The College of Saint Rose struck in the opening eight minutes, but the Lions increased their offensive pressure in the second period and eventually deadlocked the affair 1 - 1 when junior midfielder Dana Potezsch converted a penalty kick with 72:46 expired. However, Saint Rose proved resilient as sophomore back Luisa Gaudl tipped home a ball off a volley from senior midfielder Karmyn Carter at the 81.44 mark. Molloy manufactured three more shots and a like number of corners from that point forward as it desperately tried to find another equalizer. However, the College of Saint Rose kept their composure to chalk up a tough win.
