The Thomas College Men's Soccer team claimed their fifth North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Title in program history, defeating SUNY Canton 1-0 in the NAC Finals.
Thomas College Men’s Soccer feature 7 Bermuda players on their roster that includes MacQuille Walker, Justin Bell, Jahzardae Samuels, Jahkeylo Burgess, Zenawi Bowen, Jaavaid Warren-Smith and Darin Woolridge.
Thomas College struck in the 67th minute when Michael Sanzari curved a free kick in front of the net and Josh Emard kicked it in past the SUNY Canton keeper. The goal held for the 1-0 victory as Emard earned NAC Tournament MVP honors.
Jonathan Dutka earned the shutout win for Thomas, making three saves.
Following the game, Emard, Adam LaBrie, Burgess and Bell were recognized for their performance in the NAC Tournament as members of the All-Tournament Team.
In their Semi-Final the Thomas College scored twice in the first 16 minutes to take a 2-1 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win over Husson and move on to the NAC Finals.
Walker collected a pass from Adam LaBrie and buried the opening goal of the game in the 8th minute to give Thomas the 1-0 lead. Bell made it 2-0 in the 16th minute on his fifth of the season to send Thomas into the break with the lead.
Husson pulled within one in the 81st minute on a goal by Joao Passoni but were unable to get the equalizer as Thomas took the 2-1 win.
